Air Conditioning Service

Tools

Don’t find yourself without air conditioning during the hot summer months. We visually inspect the air conditioning compressor drive belt, air conditioning compressor, and other accessible components for cracks, leaks, or damage. We recharge and vacuum-test the system. We repair and replace parts as needed.

Alignment

Properly aligned tires increase the length of time in which your tires will last on the road before they need to be replaced for safety purposes. We use state-of-the-art equipment to measure wheel angle against manufacturer specifications, to properly align your tires.

Alternators

Alternators have a shelf life, and when they go bad, the vehicle draws energy from the battery, which eventually dies as well. If you see dashboard warning lights appear or dim headlights, your alternator may be nearing the end of its life. We visually inspect and listen for potential issues coming from your alternator, and replace alternators as needed.

Brakes

Good brakes are an important safety issue. We measure brake pads and replace them with high quality brake pads as needed.

Catalytic Converters

Your catalytic converter plays an important role in safety and emission control. If you accelerate but your vehicle fails to speed up, it could be a sign of a clogged catalytic converter, which can cause your engine to fail. A damaged oxygen sensor can cause your catalytic converter to operate less efficiently and reduce its lifespan. Too little oxygen can prevent harmful gases from diminishing, and too much oxygen can cause the converter to overheat and fail. Make sure your catalytic converter is in tip-top shape so that it properly cleans up the harmful effects of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxide vehicle emissions by being able to do the proper conversions.

CV Joints/Half Shafts

Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn corners? Does your vehicle vibrate when you reach freeway speeds? You may have a problem with your inner or outer CV joint, CV boots, and/or clamps. This is the mechanism that transmits power from the transaxle/differential to the wheels. Our mechanics can advise you whether they recommend a full or partial replacement, depending on the part and the severity of the issue.

Exhaust and Mufflers

Your exhaust system and muffler are vital to the health and performance of your vehicle, from taking care of the burnt gas that the engine produces to reducing engine noise. Signs of a faulty muffler include loud noise, funny smell, and fumes inside the car that causes headaches.

Headlights

Over time, headlights lose their effectiveness as the protective plastic on them starts to dull and lose their clarity.  We can bring your headlights back to life and improve your safety and visibility on the road.

Starters

The starter in your vehicle sets the engine in motion when you turn on your ignition switch. If the starter goes bad, the engine will not crank properly when you turn the ignition key, or may not crank at all. The symptoms are similar to that of a dead battery. However, if you hear a loud click, but your lights, radios, and horn still work, the problem is more likely to be with your starter. We can evaluate the issue and repair parts to ensure your starter and battery are in strong, working order.

State Inspections

We offer standard state inspections according to law and ensure the safety of your vehicle.

Timing Belts

Your timing belt is the ribbed belt that keeps the crank and camshafts timed properly. It’s important to have your timing belt checked and replaced before it snaps, to keep it running. In addition, depending on the type of engine you own, if your timing belt snaps, you could bend valves, cylinder heads, or have camshaft wall damage. We generally recommend replacing your timing belt every 60,000 miles or five years.

Water Pumps

The water pump in your vehicle circulates engine coolant around the engine and out to the radiator. This keeps the engine from overheating. Water pumps eventually wear out. Our expert mechanics can pressure test the cooling system for leaks, or replace the water pump, radiator caps, or thermostats. Signs of an issue with the water pump include leaking coolant, overheating, or a car that won’t start.
